Another not boring night

Hoooooooooooooooooo.... Tonight was so much fun...which I supposed to study, I remember I told Steph that I'm going to do my assignment tonight but it end up I didn't do anything at all...so bad...ah well anyway it still was such a fun night

Okay let's start from morning...Basically morning I went to Steph's house to pick up a spring onion that I forgot to take yesterday, but I ended up forgot about it...Then I get back some of my cds that I lend to her, then I just borrow Three Amigos DVD from her

Then I went to Woolworths to buy some groceries (Masa went to chinatown by himself) to buy other groceries too..

Then at night I cooked another random stuff, I named it "Oh ronnie so cool" chicken (sounds good) hahaha lol and cooked Bak Choy and a scrambled egg. It tasted allright, but Ian & Masa have to clean up whole bunch of dishes hahaha lol (evil laugh)

Then some time later Amanda & Steph came, followed by Himali. Then we basically got nothing to do then watched Kung Pow and it's just sooo lame.. I love lame shows... Can't believe those girls don't like it, they said it was a torture to watch.. Man... They can't appreciate lame shows hahahahaha lol...

Then after that we watched 50 First Dates.. The shows were so much fun, I also love 50 First Dates, I watched the movie for about 4 times already I think.... Ah well tonight is just fun.. Really enjoy it.. Thanks guys ;)

Oh, get well soon for Steph, Michelle & Miin Huey.. Exam's coming better get well soon so can study hard...hooo...

Trip to Waterfall Gully (continued) - Photos

Finally done editing the photos, the scanned quality is not bad, but the only problem I have is just the picture a bit too bright, but the shopkeeper said there are no adjustment...So must be the scanner...hehe

I've got the scanned photo yesterday (Tuesday), then I've done my assignment...yay.. 2 more assignments left..hooooo.... Then I went to Steph's house to give her the cd (scanned photos), she also likes the picture quality...It's good..hehehe

Allright, here's the photo, as usual you still can see the whole gallery and larger resolution on my art gallery here

This one is our second stop on the trip, me & Steph took a bit time here since I thought I lost my lens cap and actually it was inside my jeans pocket...

This one here is the third stop on the trip.. We took more shots on the way rather than at the waterfall itself hehehe (Voon already left us since the second stop, we spent too much time looking for my lens cap hahaha)

Then after the third stop we walked a little bit further then I noticed these leaves, then I had to go down from the street to take this shot

This time we went ahead of Voon then Steph said these 2 houses are very cute, like those houses on postcard hehehe

Finally three of us catching up together then Voon noticed the trees which I didn't notice at all.. Then all of us took very simliar shots...haha

Keep going until 1km left! Hoooooo....

Stop by at some place and took quite random shot...Ah well I like this shot in a way.. =p

This is it the waterfall..Nothing very special actually, but it was a good trip, then Steph said she could just enjoy and not taking shot (but she took a shot in the end anyway) hehe

Steph & Voon preparing the camera for the shot when the sun was covered with clouds..

We decided to climb up to the top, and here's the view from the top

Another view from the top

On the way back, we went to the place where Voon spent a lot of time. Yah, it was a good spot, no wonder he spent lot time here hehe

Another shot from the good spot hehehe...

Hm... Most of the pictures are in black & white...I used to not really like black & white I remember...Think it's because Steph's influence....She's responsible for it...hahaha.....

Anyway, that's the photo so far, I still need to develop my other film, I used only 10 frames...still have 14 left...That's bad thing of using film I guess...

Trip to Waterfall Gully

Ookayy.... me, Voon Siong Wong, Stephanie Lee went to Waterfall Gully today, and it was fun and most important it's tiring....haha Steph was dying after the walk lol

Okay, now go back to last night, me, Ian, Masa, Miin, Amanda, Steph, Himali, Deborah, Akos & Norman all went to watch The DaVinci Code, and before that we went for dinner at Spices on Rundle St. The DaVinci Code is good movie in a way, despite all those nonsense theory haha lol but actually it's a good movie, recommended for people who have faith in Jesus, this movie can test your faith....

Wait, I don't really think so, coz it's a bit nonsense, on DaVinci Code's theory during the last supper, the one sit next to Jesus is Mary Magdalene, which is so wrong, it's not her, if you count all people sitting there it's all 12, it's all Jesus' diciple...so from that point on all story all just fiction, which clearly stated on the book itself on the front page, that all the stories all fiction.

We finished watching the show at 12am, going back home around 1am, Steph slept after she got back home and I don't sleep straight when I get back home...I don't know just do random stuff, like listen to music, read some manga (doraemon), and I really have no idea what did I do until 2am then go to sleep ahahaha lol...

Next day, three of us supposed to meet at 8am near the bus stop, and I woke up at 7.30am, then I wore my contact lenses, and I want to brush my teeth and the toothpaste is gone! That's so gay, I wanted to ask my other housemate (Ian) but he's still sleeping, then Steph already called me, then I just put my camera on my bag and then just go confidently ahahaha lol (I know it's gross don't complain about it haha)

Bus come at 8.15am, and I arrived at the bus stop at 8.10am, then we went on the bus, it took us around 20 minutes to go there. Then me & Steph just buy something to eat for our breakfast, and then we started walking. At normal rate, we can reach the waterfall from the bus stop by 40-45 minutes, but when we walk we just stop and take pictures for so often, so it ended up 2 hours to reach the waterfall lol

On the way to the waterfall, me & Steph stop for a while, take some shots, and I thought that I lost my lens cap, I was quite panic that time but after took quite a while it's just on my jeans pocket....then Voon stop at some spots and we just continue walking and leave him behind a bit (not too far) hehehe :p

The waterfall is not so great, but the walking was so fun, took some shots, after we went to the waterfall we just go to some snack bar, Voon had burger, me & Steph had hot dog. The hot dog was nice, i like it, it got butter and the tomato sauce is just sexy (ya, it's sexy) hahaa lol

On the way back, we went to a spot that Voon takes quite some time to take shots (we leaving him behind a bit) then we take some shots there, it was a nice spot actually and both me & Steph didn't realise that... =)

After we came back from the waterfall, me & Steph went to Woolworths to buy my toothpaste, and to develop the film. Then finally I go back home, Steph was dying she said she's gonna sleep after reach home. And here I am not sleeping but tired (we all walked around 9km in total)... hehe tonight I'll go to Uni SA with Masa and probably Steph to study..Exam is 4 weeks away kyaaaaa ahahaha

Oh here's 2 of the shots taken by Voon

3 of us
me & Steph
These 2 photos are copyrighted by Voon

My photos is not out yet, tomorrow the film will be developed, and I need to scan it first, so expect it will be uploaded on Tuesday/Wednesday...

I better go and start cook my dinner...adios... =p

Finally I finished editing all the photos...I love using raw files...even though it's big in size but the flexibility is just too sexy to handle ahahaha lol

I deleted around 100 shots, and in total I got 190 picutres left on my hard drive using Adobe Digital Negative Format (DNG) .. I will upload the photos soon, you can view it by Tuesday night, I promise hehe...Anyway, I got this very inspirational words from Min Lee (She's a violinist, and she's actually Steph's cousin)

Notes for an address by Min Lee

FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS

If that sounds simple… if that sounds easy… let me tell you, it’s the hardest thing you’ll ever do. Following your dreams will turn your world upside down and inside out. Because it demands courage. It demands commitment. And it demands an un-shakeable belief in yourself. Following your dreams can mean making unusual choices – and for a lot of us, that can also mean unpopular choices.

So many of my friends grew up hearing the same thing over and over from their parents and teachers. Success means being a doctor or a lawyer. Nothing else will do. But does life really boil down to just two choices? Imagine if I stood up here and tried to play you a piece with just two notes. I think you’d be looking at your watches very quickly. And what does setting aside your dreams to become a doctor or lawyer give the world? Apart from a lot of very unhappy doctors and lawyers?

Ask yourself: does the world really need another unhappy lawyer?

And I’d like to think the doctors I see are thinking about my health… not what their lives might have been like if they’d chosen differently. If your dream is to become a doctor, that’s wonderful. If your dream is to become a lawyer, good for you.

Follow those dreams.

But if your dreams lead you down a different path, then please: take that path as far as it goes.

I have been very lucky. My mother believed in my gift, and my dreams, from a very early age. She encouraged me every step of the way. Some people thought she was crazy to have me leave Singapore. “There are so many violinists out there,” they said – to her and sometimes to me. “What makes you think Min will stand out? What makes you think she can succeed?”

But if I hadn’t tried – if I’d listened to those voices, and stayed home, and put my dreams and my violin away – I would never have stood on the stage in Vienna, or London, or Prague. I would never have met the musical giants whose teaching expanded my hori-zons, and took my music into an entirely new realm. I would never have held my 300-year-old Guarnerius filius Andreas violin, never heard the notes my hands could draw from it.

All of these things came true because of the choice of following my dreams.

I said earlier that following your dreams isn’t easy, and it wasn’t for me, either. When you follow your dreams, when you find your calling, you’ll find that you al-ways want to be just a little bit better at it. You’ll keep striving.

Sometimes you’ll even wonder if you’re on the right path… especially when those dreams mean conflict. It can be conflict with parents, or friends, or anyone who thinks they know what’s best for you. I don’t like conflict, either. I like harmony – probably not a big surprise.

But sometimes in a musical piece, it’s the discordant note that signals a change, and brings you into an unexpected new place. And in life, when you push against limits and when you question the expectations of other people, that can involve conflict.

But isn’t that part of leadership?

Not every dream works out. I’ve been very lucky, but still had my share of disap-pointments. But if you never try, you’ll never know how it would have worked out. And living with the regret of never having tried is a real tragedy.

Each of us has our own unique talents, and I believe it’s this talent that drives our dreams. And together, courage, talent and dreams can take each of us to real success. Not the kind of success you measure in money. Or the size of your house or your car.

I mean the real success of a fulfilling, happy life. Where you make a contribution to your community, and achieve the goals you hold closest in your heart. That’s the success I wish for all of you. And if what I’ve said has touched you in some way, then that brings me a little closer to fulfilling my dreams, too.

Thank you.

Her message has a big impact on me. My pastor last time had the same message as well, it's about to not let go of your dream. But at that time I don't even have any dream. To be honest, I don't even have any motivation for my life..That's why my uni is pretty crappy, when you don't have motivation you ain't going nowhere...

I like photography a lot, especially photo journalism, coz it's just something challengin & special to me, each photos got their own meaning...That's what kind of photo I love to take...And for some reason Steph keep amazes me, she lend the camera to me, which is a big deal to me, and she's very encouraging. When you have a friend that got the same interest with you, and your friend actually encourage you, lift you up, that's just the best friend you'll ever had.

I remember one of my other friend told me once about my photos "Oh, I can take better picture than that"...Yah, even if you have, you don't need to discourage & put down on people, if you are able to take better picture, it's even better if you can teach your friend how to take the picture as good as yours, or even take a better picture than yours....I don't think it's a great thing to say when you lift up yourself and tried to put down others...And for Steph she said this once "You're pictures are good..you can be a photo journalist already" and it just gave me a great impact on me...Especially her photos are even much better than me, oh, you can check her gallery here.

I guess that's for today...it's 3:38am, and I'm still up coz I ate pizza too much I guess...hahaha...anyway just need to remind all of you, do not try to limit & put down your friend, your colleague, your family, even your partner. You won't get anything out of it, the moment you started to put down your friend, that's when you are losing. I'm sure all of you like to be lifted up, encouraged (by doing positive things of course) and when you do that to your friend, you'll never know how does it will impact on your friend's life, you can even help them to break the limits by just encouraging....So try to encourage & appreciate all your friends work.....

Sometimes I have to keep reminding myself about this as well... =)

Okay time to sleep..... ciaooo

So exciting ;)

Hmm...okay..... I'm bored as usual...lol... no no.. actually not hahaha

I don't know where to start.. Today was so exciting for me.... My church (Edge Church International) had the latest live album recording! It just so amazing...I mean I actually can feel the atmosphere is different..It's just simply great..The songs are a big big improvement compared to previous albums...To my friends who didn't come to the recording: you missing a lot...too bad lol hehe

So first I came down to the church (at Reynella, 45-60min by bus from city), then there is one church member (non-staff) told me that I'm not allowed to take photos during the concert.. Because he said he saw another guy tried to take photos but one of staff not allowed him/her to do that. So I was quite surprised..erm..not really... It's a formal event... So I expected not everyone can take photos.. But lucky me involved in the multimedia (yay hehehe =p) I talked to the main person who's in charge for all the video & multimedia whether I can take photos or not, coz I really want to contribute to my church, especially on the field that I love (photography obviously)..Isn't it just great if you can serve on the field that you love? =) =)

Okay then I met some of Edge City Church member, and met one of my friend and they offer me a ride back home...yay so nice...*the bus is only once in hour during Sunday....great..* anyway, I was sooo excited about the concert that I felt like I was little kid so excited (even on the bus I was so excited but just act cool (calm))...But I don't care hahaha.. Oh.. I also didn't forget to pray before taking shots, and put my confidence in God, not in the camera.. (Thanks to Yohanes for the tips to pray before doing anything ;)) Then the concert began, the opening song was just amazing (I don't even know what's the title), stage was good, lighting is sexy (I heard they even shipped the lighting all the way from Melbourne for this event)

It's so tiring, I went upstairs & downstairs for like 3-5times, walk back & forth all the way, coz as a photographer you're not supposed to stay at the same spot..Get out of your comfort zone... hehehe (actually I was fixing my past mistake, what I did is I just stay at one spot all the time coz I was afraid of moving around) then I even went to the backstage, went up the stage (on the backside off course) take some close up shots....and it's juuuust greaattt.... Using the widelens 10-22mm (real focal length: 16-35.2mm) and telefocal lens 28-135mm (real focal length: 44.8-216mm) and it was so good because the lighting is good, I can actually used quite fast shutter (most the shots around 1/125-1/600 on ISO 3200) which is very good...hehehe

Then during the middle the senior pastor (Ps. Danny Guglimucci) *I hope I didn't spell his name wrongly..* went up and give some speech, and prophesy about this coming album will change live... And I can say it's true, I've been to the recording and it's just different with those normal random concerts....It is really different =)

The song continues, and I just keep going around and take photos as usual, then Ps. Gary went up and said the musician having a break and he asked anyone who has needs, and then asked all other people around those people who in need to pray with them, laying hands on them, and I used this great opportunity to take shots, and the result was great! But....after a while there was one church staff member came to me and said "it's okay to take photos, but please do not take photo when people worship & pray" which is... *GREAT!* isn't it what church supposed to be? To praise Jesus & pray together, and my job as a photographer is to show the people what's church life is all about! Why in the world he's trying to stop me...pretty weird...but then after the praying the church continues the concert and still going around take photos...I was so tired...And I actually sweating there... *it was freezingly cold outside* haha

After the concert finished, I went and asked Matt (one of church main multimedia member) whether I can submit these photos to church or not, and he said I can....Yaaaayyy...so cool hahaha

Then my friend drove me back home safely, and I returned the camera to Steph...erm..I think I haven't told you that I actually borrowed Stephanie Lee's camera, the whole set of camera (Canon EOS 20D, 3 lenses, Canon 580EX Flash) it was so nice of her...really appreciate that... =)

Back then before I went to church, I was so worried I thought I broke Steph's battery, because she said the charger supposedly turn to green if the battery is full, and the charger just displayed a solid red light...and worse, I didn't even know how to read the battery on the camera...don't blame me, the camera's battery reading is pretty weird...trust me...well not really though...but anyway I came to her place and she was laughing all the way because the charger supposed to display solid red (she mixed up with other charger) and I didn't know how to read the battery on camera so it was quite funny...hahahaha

Well I guess that's for today, I got assignment due tomorrow! Yayy... And I haven't finished yet, don't really know how to do actually..It's about Distance-Vector algorithm (for computer network people...help meee) hahaha..

The photos will be uploaded soon, probably on Tuesday, after finishing my assignment then I'll do the editing as soon as possible...
